Michelle is a licensed pediatric speech language pathologist who haDSC_0658bluebackground.jpgs been practicing since 2006. Michelle has provided therapy in a variety of clinical

settings, including public and private schools, outpatient therapy settings, and specializes in in-home speech services addressing the needs of infants through young adults.

She is a dedicated and enthusiastic professional who enjoys working with young children and their families. Michelle strives to provide needed therapy and necessary education to help each child reach success. Michelle also has a vast experience and knowledge-base in working with families in life-planning as they transition their students out of the school system at the age of 22.

Michelle received a B.A. in Speech Language Pathology and Linguistics from the University of Iowa and a certificate in Deaf Studies and American Sign Language. Further, she received her M.A. from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She is a certified member of the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA), the Illinois Speech and Hearing Association (ISHA), American Academy of Private Practice in Speech Pathology and Audiology (AAPPSPA), and is licensed within the State of Illinois. Michelle has been presented with 5 Awards for Continuing Education (ACE) by the Continuing Education Board (CEB) in recognition of continued professional study. The ACE is a formal recognition of professionals who have demonstrated their commitment to lifelong learning by earning 7.0 CEUs (70 contact hours) within a 36-month period.

She is certified by Early Intervention in Illinois. Michelle presented at the AAPPSPA Convention in May 2014 in Phoenix, AZ, at the AAPPSPA Convention in May 2015 in Charlotte, NC, and was published in the ASHA Leader in December 2014.

Mary has worked with children and adults ranging from 18 months-adults with a variety of disorders such as autism, feeding, expressive and receptive language, auditory processing, traumatic brain injury, executive functioning, fluency, aphasia, apraxia, and articulation. She has devoted time to screenings, assessing, and evaluating children within the community. Mary is passionate about educating families on evidence-based research strategies that will carry outside of the therapy room and aid their everyday lives.

Mary received her B.A. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Saint Xavier University. She received her M.S. in Speech, Language, and Learning from Northwestern University.
