Are you a new mom who’s having discomfort while feeding your newborn? Then this book is for you. This book by Lisa Paladino, will be found on Amazon for a few dollars (or free if you have Kindle Unlimited) and can be a quick answer to some of the main questions that you’re having. The 40 page book is broken down into six chapters and addresses six of the main causes of pain during nursing.
As with all books, this book is not a replacement for seeing a trained professional. When seeking a professional, this book may help you figure out what type of professional you need to seek services from. An IBCLC is a healthcare professional who has completed extensive training in breast-feeding. They can assist you with positioning while nursing, milk supply (building a supply or managing an oversupply), helping get your baby to breast successfully, and the overall nursing dyad. As addressed in chapter 2, some babies may need to address tethered oral tissues in order to have the success at the breast that is desired. At Simply Communication, we have extensive training with the identification of oral restrictions as well as can create a program for baby and mom to target breaking oral compensations that baby has been using.
